Why EMDR Intensives instead of weekly therapy?
Clients often see results in days rather than months or years as in weekly therapy.
The shorter duration of therapy means that clients save money over the course of treatment
Intensives reduce the need to take off work or obtain weekly childcare for weekly sessions.
How do I get started with EMDR Intensives?
Interested individuals will be scheduled for a free, 30-minute initial consultation to determine goodness of fit, and explore desired outcomes, and treatment expectations. EMDR Intensives are available for a half-day, one, two, and three days. Multiple-day intensives can be scheduled on consecutive days within one weekend. This is ideal for clients who are from out of the area. EMDR Intensives can also be scheduled anywhere between one week and one month apart. Follow-up EMDR Intensives are available to accommodate individual needs that may arise after an initial intensive.
What's included in the cost of the EMDR Intensive?
The fee includes a customized Client workbook, comprehensive pre-intensive assessment and post-intensive, full-day comprehensive therapeutic programming, a Client Portal with access to our online library of helpful e-books, and all supplies needed during the retreat. Snacks, tea, coffee, and water throughout the retreat will be provided as well.
Can I use my insurance for EMDR Intensives?
Insurance can be used to help offset the cost. Insurance may cover between $450- $750 of the cost depending on the retreat. We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and United Health Care. If you plan to use your insurance, we will submit a claim to your insurance and apply any payments to your balance. Clients are responsible for the full amount.
How can I reserve my spot for an EMDR Intensive?
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to schedule your retreat. If you need to cancel your retreat, your deposit can be used towards rescheduling your retreat within 30 days. At the time of the retreat, your portion of the fee not covered by insurance is due. A payment plan is available upon request.
Will an EMDR Intensive clear all of my trauma?
It’s important to acknowledge that our Individualized EMDR Intensive Retreats are not a cure-all. As with any treatment, medical and psychological, individual results will vary. We make no promises or guarantees about the outcomes. We do promise to bring our very best that we have to offer. We promise to incorporate the latest in neuroscience and best practices. We ask that you bring your best as well. We ask that you refrain from using any substances before or during any of the retreats.

The economy is compelling: even compared to other trauma therapy, the intensive format may decrease treatment time, because of time not spent on a) checking in at the beginning of each session, b) addressing current crises and concerns, c) focusing on stabilizing and coping skills that the client won’t need after trauma healing or d) assisting the client in regaining composure at the end of the session.
